Rhodiola rosea

The extract of Rhodiola rosea, in the dosage of 250 mg, is particularly active on the transport of tryptophan and 5-hydroxy-tryptophan (5-HTP) to the brain, with an inhibitory effect on Monoamine oxidase system (MAO-COMT), resulting in an increase of approximately 30% of the cerebral serotonin.

The effects of Rhodiola rosea, a functional dose (500 mg / day), are as follows:

  • Adaptogen, with direct effect on the hypothalamus and increased resistance to toxins and stress.
  • Antidepressant, with stimulation of the dopaminergic system and with inhibition of MAO.
  • Anti-stress, with stimulation of the adrenergic system.
  • Powerful antioxidant.
Hypericum

Also called St. John’s wort, it is a common herb in our countryside. In literature, a number of works confirm the following mechanisms of action:

  • Inhibition of the reuptake of serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine.
  • Reuptake inhibition of GABA in pre-synaptic.
  • Increased post-synaptic receptors for serotonin.
  • Increased night internal secretion of melatonin.
Vitamin B6

It is a precursor of serotonin, which is involved in appetite regulation at the central level.

Excipients

Warnings

  • Do not take during pregnancy.
  • Excessive consumption may have a laxative effect.
  • If you are taking the medication, before using the product should also consult their doctor because the Hypericum extract may interfere with the metabolism, also inhibiting its activity. The St. John’s Wort extract is contraindicated in pediatric and adolescent age.

Directions

2 tabs per day, preferably 1 at mid-morning and 1 at mid-afternoon.
